Awakened Youth – Vivekananda’s Sankalp in Standing Asanas
National Youth Day
Date: 12.01.2026 Day: MONDAY
Description: Awakened Youth – Vivekananda’s Sankalp in Standing Asanas
Today, on the occasion of National Youth Day, we remember and celebrate the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the great youth icon of India. He believed that the strength of the nation lies in the strength of its youth—strong in body, steady in mind, and pure in thought.
The theme “Awakened Youth – Vivekananda’s Sankalp in Standing Asanas” reflects this powerful message. Standing yoga asanas represent alertness, balance, confidence, and determination. As we perform these asanas, we express our resolve to stand firm in truth, discipline, and self-belief, just as Swami Vivekananda taught us.
Through Tadasana, we learn to stand tall with confidence.
Through Vrikshasana, we understand balance and patience.
Through Veerabhadrasana, we develop courage and inner strength.
These asanas remind us that a healthy body creates a focused mind, and a focused mind leads to a strong character. Practicing yoga helps students remain calm, disciplined, and energetic in their daily lives.
Swami Vivekananda inspired the youth to dream big, work hard, and serve society. By practicing yoga and following his ideals, we take a sankalp to become responsible, confident, and value-based citizens of India.
Let us rise with strength, stand with determination, and move forward with purpose.
